DNA damage repair and cancer therapeutics
- Understand the mechanisms of cancer drug action

Welcome to the Kim laboratory!

We wish to understand how the DNA damage response and repair system preserves genome stability and how its dysregulation leads to human pathological conditions, especially cancer. We believe that elucidating basic mechanisms of how organisms sense and repair damaged DNA will ultimately help us design novel therapeutics to treat cancer.

In particular, we focus on:

  1. Exploring signaling of the DNA replication stress response and
      replication-associated DNA repair

  2. Elucidating cross-talks between DNA repair and cellular
signaling regulated by oncogenes and tumor suppressors

  3. Developing anti-cancer therapeutics by exploiting DNA repair
      pathways deregulated in cancer
